Simone is very intense in recounting the every day dramas of the people resignedly dealing with the ramshackle and unreliable public transport, the street rubbish and the corruption at every level.He paints, rather like an impressionist painter, with broad brush people's conversation and expression in dealing with every day life.To appreciate the book you have to be a Neapolitan speaker but having said that it is a great effort for a budding writer.
